Girls Player of the Week

Kristin Turner, Seymour

Turner, a serious candidate for the 2008 McDonald’s “Player of the Year” award, earned her second “Player of the Week” honor with a 14-point performance in the Owls’ huge Hoosier Hills Conference win over Columbus East. In the victory, the junior drove the length of the floor and hit a layup as time expired to give Seymour a 57-56 win over the Olympians. Turner is leading the Hoosier Hills Conference with a 22 point per game average. She is also averaging nearly five steals, four rebounds and three assists per contest.

In Clarksville’s 54-52 upset win over rival Providence, the senior had the best game of his career. He scored 25 points and 18 rebounds and was named Most Valuable Player of the “City Championship.” The following night, despite foul trouble, Reeves had 14 points and seven rebounds as the Generals rolled to a 58-39 win over New Washington.
