Girls Player of the Week

Kristen Turner, Seymour

Turner didn’t just score a game-high and season-high 31 points against Brownstown Central, she scored them when they were needed. The Seymour junior scored 22 of her 31 points in the second half, and during a critical stretch in the third quarter, she scored seven straight points to turn a tie game into a 42-35 lead. That lead eventually turned into a 75-65 victory over the Owls’ county rivals. Turner hit 10 of 20 shots and 11 of 14 free throws in the victory.

Boys Player of the Week

Logan Dunn, Salem

After Salem’s senior center Colin Agan dominated the first half against Bedford North Lawrence, the Stars coaching staff decided to concentrate its defensive efforts on him. While the Stars were holding Agan to two second-half points, it was Dunn who made them pay. The senior scored 12 of his game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter as the Lions came back from 11 points down early in the fourth quarter to help Salem beat Bedford North Lawrence for the first time in school history, 65-60.
