Tim LaGrange won’t lie, he knew it wasn’t pretty.

 

“I don’t think we’ll take a picture of this one and hang it on the wall any time soon,” joked the Jeffersonville boys’ basketball coach following Tuesday’s 58-57 overtime victory over Floyd Central in the Class 4A Seymour Sectional. “But that’s the neat thing, it’s postseason, and nobody will remember how we got there when we tip off in the next round.” Full Story

PANTHERS HOLD OFF SEYMOUR

Jennings advances with a 60-53 victory

Jennings County jumped out to a 15-2 lead over Seymour, then had to hold on for its life as the Owls went on a 26-9 second-half run to cut the Panthers' lead to 53-47 after a Brandon Polbito 3-pointer with 1:16 left.

 

The Panthers, who had hit just 2 of 12 foul shots through the first 28 minutes, hit all seven of eight from the charity stripe in the final minute to secure a 60-53 victory. Full Story

WARRIORS' SEASON ENDS AT GREENSBURG

Scottsburg falls in first round to South Dearborn, 61-53

Scottsburg's first losing season since 2001 came to an end with a 61-53 loss to South Dearborn in the first round of Sectional 28 action at Greensburg.

 

Knight freshman Joel Scudder led all scorers with 20 points. Tyler Schulze led the Scottsburg with 14. Brandon Comer and Jordan Taylor had 12 points apiece. Full Story

FREELS RUNS WILD IN MUSTANGS' 60-55 SETBACK

South Central withstood a heroic effort from New Washington freshman Devin Freels, but emerged from the opening round of the Class A Borden Sectional boys’ with a 60-55 win Tuesday night.

 

Freels, a 5-foot-9 guard, poured in 32 points, including 23 halftime. Full Story
